Meet The Team

Dave Finoli
Having grown up in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, David Finoli is a passionate fan of Western Pennsylvania sports, which has been the subject of most of the books he has produced. A graduate of the Duquesne University School of Journalism, where he is featured on the “Wall of Fame” in Duquesne’s journalism and multimedia department, Finoli has penned thirty-six books that have highlighted the stories of the great franchises in this area, such as the Pirates, Penguins, Steelers, Duquesne basketball and Pitt football, to name a few. In one of his latest books, Pittsburgh’s Greatest Players, he not only ranks the top fifty players in Western Pennsylvania history but also includes a list of every Hall-of-Fame athlete who represented the area. Winner of Pittsburgh Magazine’s Best of the ’Burgh local author award for 2018, Finoli lives in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Vivian. He also has three children, Tony, Cara, Matt and three grandchildren, River, Emmy and Ellie.

Emmet Mahon
Emmet Mahon is a native of Pittsburgh, PA who has been living in York, PA for the past 24 years. He received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from Saint Vincent College, Latrobe, PA. He has worked in finance, government, and sales sectors in the past.
Emmet has been passionate about sports, the good and the bad, all his life. He can trace his passion all the way back to going to his first Pirates game at Forbes Field. Much of his earnings from high school jobs was spent on walk-up tickets to Penguins games at the Civic Arena. And while he follows closely, and desires success for the Steelers, his favorite NFL team is the NY Giants. This being the result of Santa leaving him a Fran Tarkenton Giants mini uniform under the tree when he was five.
It was during his years at Saint Vincent that he developed an interest in the NFL Draft. He credits that interest to the exploding media attention to the draft occurring at the same time. He recalls anticipating the pre-draft edition of Sports Illustrated and the mock draft prepared by Doctor Z. It was not long after college that he began tracking the Pirates minor league affiliates through box scores printed in Pittsburgh newspapers. That minor league interest evolved into studying the minor league draft.
For Draft412.com, Emmet will serve as a contributor covering all Pittsburgh regional teams with an emphasis on the Pirates and Penn State football.
Emmet can be reached at Emmet.Draft412@gmail.com.

Joe 412
Joe 412, born in the crucible of Pittsburgh’s steel history, is a lifelong resident of the 'Burgh and an avid sports fan.
Joe 412 wrote for a national NFL scouting service from 2013 to 2015 analyzing draft boards and free agent needs of individual teams. He also spent time around USA Hockey and NCAA Men’s Division 1 Ice Hockey with a focus on both the Big Ten Conference and the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
Joe 412 eats Isaly’s chipped ham, breathes Primanti sandwiches and only uses Heinz ketchup and mustard. Swaddled in a Terrible Towel at birth, he swears that Sid Bream was “aht” at the plate and that Franco really did catch the ball. He is a man of the purple Highlands and a Panther of gold.
And he only writes in SCRIPT… H2P

John (JT) Toth
John (JT) Toth is 48 from Brentwood and has lived in the South Hills of Pittsburgh his whole life (grew up in Baldwin). JT played baseball at Baldwin High School and his claim to fame is a 2-run HR off of Matt Clement of Lyndora, (Butler PA) who went on to play 9 years in the majors. JT has 3 kids, Cheyenne, Jared and Graycen, and has been married to Suzanne Toth for 25 years.
Sports has always been the lifeline of JT's life. Toth started a company called Sportsvival whose motto was, "if it wasn't for sports, how would I survive." JT has written 6 books on NFL draft and NFL scouting guides. Toth's dream is to live and die sports 24/7. JT hopes to take what he has learned and gained at Sportsvival and bring it to Draft 412 to help make this a successful endeavor.

Zachary Somma
Zachary Somma is a native of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Montour High School before enrolling at Robert Morris University, where he expects to graduate with a Degree of Arts in December 2023. Despite being a History major, his love of sports and writing has become more than a passion. Thanks initially to fantasy football, he has become heavily invested in scouting for the NFL Draft, and even began
his own scouting blog to break down prospects and film in his spare time over the past few years.

Outside of writing for Draft 412, he is also currently interning with Sports Info Solutions, a PA-based sports data analytics firm, as a Football Video Scout. Though he always has love for the Pittsburgh teams, he is a Los Angeles Chargers fan for the NFL, a Seattle Mariners fan for the MLB and a Montreal Canadiens fan for the NHL. It’s a long story…
