NFL Draft Prospects- Safeties by J.T.

2022 NFL Draft:Safeties

Sportsvival continues their position by position look at the 2022 NFL Draft. This week we look at the safety position. We have a couple safeties who could see their name come off the board on night one. Kyle Hamilton of Notre Dame could go as high as top 5. This is another defensive position that has nice depth. Now lets take a look at the safety position.

1)- Notre Dame-S-Kyle Hamilton- Hamilton is built like a linebacker who roams around as a defensive back. Kyle is 6’4” 220 lbs and can hit as hard as anyone at the position. Sideline to sideline depth with good ball hawking skills. With his size seems to get called for a lot of head to head hits. #4 on the Sportsvival big board.

2)- Penn State-S-Jaquan Brisker- Brisker is a willing and able run stopper who could be a continual 100 plus tackle safety. Explosives speed and hitting ability, a weakness though is his eyes at times getting caught in the backfield. #14 on SV’s big board.

3)- Michigan-S-Daxton Hill- Hill has elite speed for a safety and can get to top speeds quickly. Versatile can fill in as a cornerback or nickelback. A little slender for safety but can be a gamechanger. #31 and the final safety in top 50 SV big board.

4)- Georgia-S-Lewis Cine- Cine is quick at recognizing what the offense is setting up to do. Can make any play as well as anybody in draft. Can see Cine climbing up from this #4 position in the safety class.

5)- Illinois-S-Kerby Joseph- A natural tackler with great ball skills. Can sometimes have trouble covering enough ground to stop the big plays. Angels need work.

6)- Baylor-S-Jalen Pitre- Moves around the field as well as anybody and is tough for blocker to hit. Not very versatile has certain situations he exels in. Broke out late in career, red-shirt senior year.

7)- Cincinnati-S-Bryan Cook- Decent not great at about everything. Average tackler and can cover. Another late bloomer. A lot to prove at Senior Bowl and or combine.

8)- South Carolina-S- R.J. Roderick- A good tackler, who can also cover, at times makes you scratch your head. Can rise on this list with combine.

9)- Miami,Fla-S-Bubba Bolden- Good pursuit speed, needs to get bigger though. Plays angels well, but can be too stiff at times.

10)- Texas A&M- Leon O’Neal Jr.- Good instincts, has an NFL field awareness. Has trouble completing tackles, and can get lost in blocks. Needs work but the ceiling is there.
