The 2023 NHL Draft is right around the corner and for one NHL team, it will be Christmas.

Occasionally, the NHL world gets a generational talent. Gretzky, Lemieux, Crosby, and McDavid come to mind. This year, that future superstar is named Connor Bedard. Bedard finished the season with 71 goals and 72 assists in 57 games for the Regina Pats. In the World Junior Championship, he exploded with 9 goals and 14 assists in only 7 games.

Bedard is by far the most talented incoming player to an NHL arena near you, but this draft has other talented players as well. RW- Matvei Michkov, C- Adam Fantilli, C- Zach Benson, and C/LW- Leo Carlsson round out one of the best top 5’s we have had in years. This draft lottery will be a "must watch" event. If you are an NHL GM, you have a need at the forward position in 2023, most of the prospects play Center or Wing. Getting a defenseman will be tougher than ever in round 1.

Here is Draft 412's preliminary ranking of the 2023 NHL prospects as we lead up to the June 28th NHL Draft at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
