Start’em or Sit’em by J.T.
It is already week 5 of the NFL season! If you are a sports lover like myself, you will notice that our years fly by even quicker than the regular joes. Week 5 of Fantasy Football…hmmm…Hopefully your team is off to a good start in 2021. If not, maybe I can help you, or make it worse! I would venture on the side of saying I am helping you.
Here is a look at who you should start/pickup in week 5 and who you should sit/drop in week 5. Please don’t be mad if I am wrong, but if I help you win donations are accepted. Let’s see what I have up my fantasy sleeves.
Start Em/Pick Up
SF-QB- Trey Lance. Lance is now the starter in San Francisco after Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a calf injury last week. Trey Lance may be the starter for the rest of the season if he plays to potential. Consistency may not be there at the beginning, but I believe Trey is a nice pickup and a great addition as a backup on your roster. If you are in a keeper league he should already be gone as he should have a bright future in the NFL.
CHI-RB-Damian Williams- As with the above Lance, Damian Williams was thrust into the starting job after David Montgomery suffered a leg injury that could keep him out several weeks. Williams, a key part of the Kansas City Chiefs during their Super Bowl win two years ago can supply you with some yards and a possible couple scores in the next couple of weeks. He should be a very high priority on leagues waiver wire this week.
CAR-QB- Sam Darnold- Sam Darnold, off to a nice start in 2021 after three struggling years with the Jets will face off against a reeling Philadelphia Eagles defense this week. The Eagles are fresh off 42 and 41 points given up to Dallas and Kansas City. Sam Darnold my be a nice starter this week, depending on who you have as the other quarterback.
Sit em or Drop em
TB-RB- Ronald Jones– Ronald Jones has yet to have more than 6 carries in a game yet for Tampa Bay. If you have another running back in mind to pick up, Jones may be worth the cut. If you have room for Jones as a last running back though, it may be worth it, in case Leonard Fournette gets hurt.
QB-CLE-Baker Mayfield- This is a sit’em , not a drop’em. Mayfield’s Browns are going against a stingy defense in the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend. The Chargers are in the top 10 in giving up the least amount of fantasy quarterback points so far this season. Go to your backup this week.
WR-LAR-Robert Woods- Put Robert Woods on the trade block, and hope one of your competitors goes after him. Since Matthew Stafford has taken over in L.A. his eyes have been set on numerous other targets, but not on Woods. Cooper Kupp has become the #1 wide receiver and it does not appear that Woods has even been a blip on the Stafford radar.
